We are looking for a HR Partner for Schools to join our forward thinking, large Multi Academy Trust with 1250 employees across Portsmouth and Medway.

 

The Thinking Schools Academy Trust is a successful family of schools that work together to improve the life chances of all its children and young people.  Our Trust currently consists of 16 schools, 11 primary and 5 Secondary, based across the Portsmouth, Deal and Medway areas. As HRP you will provide efficient and effective HR support to our Leaders across our Schools in Portsmouth.

 

The post-holder will work closely with school senior leaders and the HR team, executing appropriate HR interventions to deliver TSAT strategy and objectives.

 

This role will focus on ER and policy related issues, coaching senior leaders with sound advice on how to manage this, providing a forward thinking and pragmatic approach to HR solutions as well as promoting sound practise.

 

The HR Partner for Schools will be a first point of contact for school leadership teams on HR policies and practices, offering advice and support as required. Leading on employee relations cases for your area, you will deal with disciplinary, grievance, absence management, performance, conduct and capability issues. The post-holder will lead on key change projects including restructuring and TUPE, whilst challenging practices and procedures to ensure that the HR service continues to add value and improves continuously.

 

You will be supporting the HR Leader on HR projects that support and enable the strategic priorities of the Trust.

This is a new role in which you will have the opportunity to shape the development of the HR function within a large, forward-thinking Multi-Academy Trust. The successful candidate will be joining a small, welcoming team who work closely together and enjoy supporting one another.

 

This position will be based in Portsmouth at our Trust Portsmouth Hub offices, located on the site of Meon Junior School.You will report directly to the Trust HR Leader r and will be responsible for supporting schools within the Portsmouth.

 

What you will need to succeed:

  • Generalist HR experience including ER, TUPE, redundancy, disciplinary etc.
  • Experience within the education sector would be beneficial but is not essential
  • CIPD Level 7 qualification, or working towards this level
  • Hardworking individual, quick to learn and motivated to deliver a high level of support to our schools across Portsmouth.
  • Able to work quickly and efficiently in order to reach the best outcomes at all times
  • Good ICT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent working knowledge of current and future employment law
  • The ability to be versatile and resilient in challenging situations
  • Able to maintain confidentiality inside and outside of the workplace
  • Full driving licence
  • The ability to occasionally travel to Medway
