An exciting opportunity to train to teach in one of our Primary Academies based in the Chatham or Strood area:

  • The Gordon Children’s Academy
  • Cedar Children’s Academy
  • New Horizons Children’s Academy
  • All Faiths Children’s Academy

Our teacher training courses enable you to obtain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with the option of upgrading to a full Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) – both of these are recognised both nationally and internationally.

We are able to offer high quality training and support from experienced teachers, including regular mentoring sessions. A high percentage of trainees move on to Teaching jobs at Schools within our Trust after completing their training. All of our Medway Primary Academies offer break out areas, a number of large playgrounds and lots of outdoor green space.

This is a Teacher Training route, and Primary Teachers with a Maths specialism may be eligible to receive a bursary of up to £6,000, dependent on their degree classification.  Candidates may also be eligible to take out a Student Loan for maintenance costs and tuition fees, if needed. Trainee Teachers can use this to cover study and living costs. If you have any queries about bursaries, please contact us at

As part of the Thinking Schools Academy Trust, our Academies benefit from working cohesively as a family of schools for the benefit of our children, and for the adults who work here too.
